    Vauxhall 55515025 Timing Chain Tensioner Gasket

    The problem is with 2017 Vauxhall 1.6 diesel engines where a rattling noise comes from engine when starting from cold. After removing cylinder head cover there is nothing wrong with camshaft and both engine oil pressure and engine oil level are correct.

    The issue is known to affect all models with 1.6 diesel engine and M32/F40 transmission types. The cause is due to an unsatisfactory design of the timing chain tensioner which allows engines oil to drain when vehicle is parked overnight. You need to to inspect camshaft drive system for damage and replace components if necessary. This gasket from Vauxhall fits between the cylinder block and timing chain tensioner to create an oil reserve reservoir for the timing chain tensioner.
