CHARITIES WE SUPPORT
Here at Autovaux Car Parts we believe in giving back within our local community and the wider world, through fund raising events and donations. In the past we’ve held fund raising events at work for Children In Need, Comic Relief, Sports Relief and Macmillan Cancer Support, trying to put some of our good fortune back into the world. We're not trying to brag or earn brownie points, but we just want to show you we're not just a big business in Dewsbury, we're a team of real people who care.
These aren't the only charities we support, we try to do some good in the local area too. We regularly donate food to homless shelters, have collections for unused clothes, and a few other things. You can see a few examples of what we've done in the past below, or follow us on social media to get involved with our charity days.
PREVIOUS CHARITY DAYS
SPORTS RELIEF & COMIC RELIEF
In 2022 we did a joint charity day for Comic Relief and the Red Cross Ukraine Relief, getting everyone to join in some fundraising by dressing as bright and colourful as you could (without buying anything new). We also held a bake sale, encouraging our team to bring in some delicious home baked goods. To top it off we donated half of our profits from the day on top of everything our team raised. In total we raised £3,500 for each charity, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team for making it a possibility.
CHILDREN IN NEED
Each year our team comes together to support Children In Need and raise money for children around the world. We have a full day dedicated to raising money, with fancy dress competitions, bake sales, sweet hamper raffles, and lots more competitions. We’ve even had team members organise their own fundraising events like a sponsored silence and park runs. Each year we manage to raise more and more for those in need and we couldn’t be more proud of our team and how they all come together for charity.
MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING
We love a good bake sale here at Autovaux, and our team always gets involved. Every year we host a special bake sale for the Macmillan Coffee Morning, with everyone bringing in cakes, brownies, cookies and more for everyone to enjoy.
CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY
Every Christmas we’ve joined in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day charity event, encouraging our team to come in their funniest or most festive Christmas jumper. We’ve had people stick quality streets to their jumper like baubles, or wear festive elf onsies all day, but everyone gets involved and raises money for charity.
LOCAL DONATIONS
We don’t just support the big charity event days, we try to support our local community as much as we can. Over lock down we bought a huge shipment of Easter Eggs that were going to waste and donated them to Wakefield Hospital’s Child Ward and a local charity for children. We also make sure our Pie Days don’t go to waste, every Christmas we have our biggest Pie Day and any left overs are taken to the local Homeless Shelters.
More recently we've collected clothes for refugees and a store cupboard supplies during the harvest festival, to send out to families in need.
